Marine resources

Marine resources are all the natural resources found in oceans that can be used by humans. These resources include both living and non-living components of the marine ecosystem. This includes fish and other marine animals, as well as oil and gas deposits, sand and gravel, and mineral and energy resources. Services such as coastal protection, tourism and carbon storage are also included. While these forms of utilisation offer great potential, they also pose considerable risks, such as overfishing and the destruction of sensitive ecosystems.
