Aquaculture is crucial in meeting the growing global demand for seafood. Farming can reduce pressure on fisheries and contribute to the conservation of marine ecosystems. However, the use of wastewater and chemicals in aquaculture can pollute the environment and ecosystems. Diseases and parasites also pose a risk to natural animal populations. Furthermore, aquaculture in coastal areas often leads to disputes over land use.
