Marine management involves the coordinated and sustainable use of the oceans, taking ecological, economic and social factors into account. It encompasses international, European and national regulations based on the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. However, despite existing agreements, there is often a lack of political will, financial resources and qualified personnel to ensure effective implementation. A cross-sectoral, integrative approach is crucial for success.
