Renewable energy

Renewable energy from the ocean uses natural forces, such as waves, tides and ocean currents, to generate electricity. This includes offshore wind power. These technologies offer great potential for sustainable energy generation, as they are climate-friendly and virtually inexhaustible. They help to reduce CO₂ emissions and support the global energy transition. However, constructing and operating such plants can cause significant damage to coastal and marine habitats.
