High Seas
The high seas, also known as the open sea, are the parts of the ocean that are far from the coast – in other words, waters that are no longer bordered by land. According to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, the term 'high seas' refers to all parts of the oceans that are not classified as territorial waters or exclusive economic zones. However, 'open seas' is not a legally defined term, but rather a general term.
