Ship noise

From zooplankton to fish and baleen whales, marine organisms use sound waves, some of which can travel thousands of kilometres. This allows them to communicate with each other, navigate and locate prey. However, shipping can disrupt this, as propellers and engines generate continuous noise, often accompanied by sound waves from sonars and echo sounders.
