CCS - Carbon Capture And Storage

CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) refers to technologies that capture, transport and store carbon dioxide (CO₂) over the long term. CO₂ is extracted from industrial emissions and transported via pipelines or ships to be stored in geological formations, such as former oil or gas fields, underground or under the seabed. Despite its potential to reduce CO₂ emissions, CCS poses risks such as leaks and raises questions about long-term safety, not to mention the very high cost of the technology.
