Bottom trawling
In bottom trawling, heavy fishing gears are dragged along the seabed to catch as many fish as possible. This can damage sensitive habitats such as cold-water corals and seagrass beds, stir up sediments, and affect biodiversity. Despite their potential environmental impact, bottom trawls are still used in some regions and are one of the most common fishing methods.
