Coral reef

Coral reefs are complex ecosystems built up through the activity of corals and other organisms. They provide habitats for numerous marine species, protect coasts from erosion, and generate income for many coastal communities. Worldwide, 70-80 per cent of coral reefs are under threat, primarily due to climate change, overfishing, and pollution. Protected areas and sustainable management are essential for their conservation.
